Why do you specify that you use humane training?
We only use humane and force free training techniques because it has been scientifically proven to work better than outdated training techniques such as alpha rolls, e-collars, or prong collars. In addition, we believe that the relationship that you have with your dog is paramount. We want to build that bond and help you live together harmoniously. For more information, check out the
Which types of animals does Practical Paws Training train?
At this time we are only taking canine cases.
What kind of equipment do you use?
We use clickers, harnesses, long leads, 6 foot leashes, muzzles, and treats!
Why don't you use dominance theory?
We don't use dominance theory because it is not only outdated, but dominance theory was developed from studying wolves in captivity. In the wild, wolves don't have the same hierarchy practices that they have in captivity. Plus, dogs are not wolves. They are a different species and while some behaviors are similar, dogs cannot be directly compared to wolves in the same way that you cannot directly compare humans to chimpanzees.
